Dr. Alya Elsayed-Ali
DDS
Dr. Alya Elsayed-Ali was drawn to dentistry because of her passion for art and science. She grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at Princess Anne High School in 2008. She then attended University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. During her undergraduate studies she also completed the requirements for the Carolina Honors Program and the Walter White Buckley Jr. Public Service Scholars Program which provides a foundation for students committed to positive change through service. During the summer in undergrad, she attended a mission trip to Honduras through the Global Dental Brigades that first sparked her passion for dentistry.
Dr. Alya then shadowed at the University of Virginia Dentistry Clinic, which cemented her love of the dental field. She went on to attend Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry where she received an AD Williams Scholarship to research silver diamine fluoride, a material that is now widely used in public health and private practice dental clinics.
Since earning her DDS in 2016, Dr. Alya has volunteered her services at the Chesapeake Care Clinic. Her clinical and continuing education interests include cosmetic dentistry, veneers, crowns and bridges, implants, oral surgery, root canal therapy, dentures, clear aligner orthodontics, and digital dentistry. Her favorite features of dentistry are getting to know her patients on an individual level and motivating them to develop better oral and overall health routines. Dr. Alya is thrilled to be back in the area she grew up in and to serve her community dental needs with kindness and compassion.
She currently resides in Virginia Beach with her husband, Ryan, and their two young children. For fun, Dr. Alya enjoys spending time with her kids, visiting Atlantic Beach NC, going out to eat, visiting art museums, discovering music new and old, and watching her two dogs chase each other in the backyard.

Dr. Brian Hsu
DDS
Dr. Brian Hsu spent most of his childhood years in Virginia Beach, where he graduated from Ocean Lakes High School. He then pursued higher education at Temple University, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in biology before attending the UT Health School of Dentistry in Houston, where he obtained his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree. Working here at Bonney Road Dental, Dr. Hsu is excited to be back in his hometown.
Outside of his time at the clinic, Dr. Hsu enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, visiting national parks, following the MLB and NBA (as a Yankees and Sixers fan, respectively!), and crafting workplace bios. His lifelong goals are to visit all of the national parks and get better at meal prepping so that he doesn’t have to keep suffering from eating his own abysmal cooking.
